My latest mistake

Thought I would share a <sorta> funny mistake. I recently made a jack block and holder for my Panther. After several days of measuring, bending, cutting, soldering, tapping and painting it was done! At first I thought it looked great. Then the more I looked at it, something just didn't seem right. After several days of head scratching and re-looking at it I checked the conversion factor I had used to convert the 1/10 scale drawing. Ooops! I used 1.16666 and should have used 1.6666. It makes a big difference! The new block is over an inch longer and half inch taller!

Moral of the story -check your dimensions before cutting any meterial! This one cost me a couple days of work! Not to mention a busted tap, which I was thankfully able to remove from the hull.

Thought you guys might enjoy a chuckle at my expense. I'm sure everyone has a similar "what not to do" story....
