Changes to our website

Improved security
Some of you may have noticed that in the last couple of day we have improved the security on our main site - we now have an SSL certificate which means (depending n the browser you are using), you will see a lock or "Secure" on the address bar, and you should see HTTPS instead of HTTP.
What this means is that data sent from your browser to our servers is now secure from prying eyes.
In the process of making this move, some links may have broken, or some content may not render correctly. If you come across any instances of this, please let us know and we will address.
On the forum, you may see that your browser says that there is mixed secure and insecure content - this is because of the external links (like image hosting providers) are not always secure.
Payment Options
We are currently working to get additional payment options set up and in both USD and EUR.
The plan is to start accepting AMEX, Bancontact, iDEAL and SOFORT - timeline is end Feb/ Early March for this.
We have no plans to add paypal as a payment method as our past experience has not been great.
On the drawing board
There are a few things that we are considering, but not yet fully planned out. Let us know your views and we can see how to prioritise (or not):
- CLASSIFIEDS - add some functionality to make it easier to post Armortek and aftermarket items for sale & allow non-forum members to be able to contact the sellers directly.
- KNOWLEDGE WIKI - Stephen has done a great job on the knowledge base so far, but the forum format is not ideal. We could create a wikipedia type area where we can then open up to several contributors.
- SPARE PARTS - listing all spare parts for sale is just not feasible - there are several thousand! We could look at having a document listing them all and having that available on the forum for members only.
- LANGUAGE - this is a big one. We know we need our site in different languages
- LOCAL CLUBS - Probably just a list of 1/6th scale clubs. We did play with the idea of creating an area where clubs could post pics and meet up information, but guess most would use something like facebook for that.
Feedback welcome!
