Been reading for a while, but finally had a reason for my first post !!
I want to make the Porsche Tiger out of my Elefant kit - unique ... beautiful
Monique sent me the drawing below (sorry photo got a bit pre-coffee blurry), but looks like I will need to fabricate the deckplates and deck details, and this brings me to the reason for my post.....
Do you think if a few of us get together we can ask Armourtek to produce the drawings and the new deck plates ? Any Elefant owners out there interested ?

Re: VK 45.01 (P) ?
Hi Nik
You have an interesting idea, but looking at photographs it appears to me that there is much more required than simply a new deck and associated detailing. The rear of the vehicle hull looks to me to be very different to the Ferdinand/Elefant.
I very much doubt that Armortek would be able to allocate the resources required to make the changes to the kit for the small number of people who would want to build the Porsche Tiger. I fear you're on your own with this one.
If you do decide to attempt the build, I'd be really interested to follow it on the forum.
Best wishes.
Dave

Re: VK 45.01 (P) ?
I did have a word with Mark at the Open day about the feasability of doing a Tiger (P) conversion and he did say the hull was confgured in such a way that it would be possible. I didn't go into any detail as it was a purely speculative question but is does ay least point to it's possibilty. I highly doubt however, that Armortek would be the source of any resources beyond advice on how the hull would accept the new deck and turret ring.

Like Daniel I also understand it is possible. The rear side armour plate angles in to support the deck on my elefant kit, but apart from the new decks, looks like I would need to remove some front armour and fill in some holes though. The turret also looks like an early tiger 1, but the bin look like PIII.
No harm in asking right ....... I will send Armoutek a mail and see what they say. #crossingfingers

Re: VK 45.01 (P) ? Tiger 1 prototype
ok .. so the good news. Heard back from Armortek. They can make the parts that we need to make the Tiger 1 prototype.
The less good news is that Monique says they would need at least 4 others to join in to make it worthwhile.
Anyone else wants to join - would be an amazing tank
