Here are some photos of my re-worked sherman turret hatch hingers . I have moved these inwards and reshaped the inside radius to match the inner ring . Plus cut new alloy hatchs with the correct shape pintals . Also I have made the hatch stops to hold open the lids to the correct angle . Next I will added all the good detail parts . Dale

Hello David .. The letters are called " slater's letters @ numbers " you can buy them from your hobby shop or model train supplies . The sizes that I used where , 3mm , 4mm , 6mm . They are flat on the back ... Just use thick super glue ,, to fix them on . Dale

Jeez, I still haven't gotten over your Tiger and you're already diving right in on the Sherman? Super work on the hatch details! I really look forward to the progress reports on this one as well as Allan's Firefly.

If you have trouble finding them at your local hobby/train shop, here's where I got some of the small letters for my parts. They are located in L.A. and supply all the hobby shops with the detail styrene parts. You can order direct. If you are not a fan of super glue, you can also prime the part, apply a tiny amount of thinner to the spot and set the letters that way as well.
