Hi all,just a quuck introduction.1st time tank builder but I usually build bikes or modify cars.Ive got a Tiger 1 with full option packs on order and as im waiting for the option packs delivery will be the end of this month.Im kind of looking forward to the build and if anybody is interested i will do a build thread.....i have done so in the past with the car and bikes.

Any kind of constructive criticisum is welcome,so feel free to chip in.At this stage im thinking of going Snow tiger with prestine finish and no specific markings.The reason being is as a basis to start i need a simple end product which can be modded and aged/weathered at a later stage if and when i am capable of it.

I am slightly dislexic so i am capable of spelling the same word differently in the same sentence,so bare with me on that.

Welcome to the gang ! We're a friendly bunch here, so feel free to post up any issues you have - you're bound to get a quick and considered response (and a few bad jokes ).

Build threads are always welcome, so post away. We all started somewhere, but it sounds like you're ahead of the curve with your automotive restoration background.

Which part of the World do you hail from ? When your build is finished, you should consider joining the 'show circuit' - loads of fun.

Hi Glen, I have trouble seeing words and letters too so I have to edit a lot, I am more artistic than literate but it takes all sorts I guess.
I used to do a lot with bikes, cars and tractors but only have a couple of bikes now and show a Jag in the summer.
Be good to see another Tiger build.

Thanks all for the welcome.I'm from Stoke on Trent and as I am getting older moving slow tanks about seems more suited to me that driving my 800hp car which I am quickly growing out of.

Once I have sorted out how to post pictures ill put a couple on of my other toys.

I know it's not strictly Armortek but I was down at Bovington on Sunday taking pictures of mostly measuring tapes whilst a friend measured up the Elefant.He intends building one from scratch.....he quite likes the challenge of building from scratch.

Although I do like the look of the weathered and worn appearance of other builds I will be quite boring and just go for the prestige white tiger,although that may well change.Also if I go for a fictitious unit it saves research and contradiction of the end product.

When I built my chopper I specifically avoided any kind of styling as I find it becomes subjective and polarises people's opinion,although other people's opinions don't really matter in that build situation it still needs to be a pleasant looking thing.

Welcome to the forum and the the hobby. I've done the car thing, Triumph spitfires were my love, and bikes still are. you know you're getting long in the tooth when the bikes you though were cool when you first started riding are now classic collectibles!!

Can't wait to see a new tiger build, don't wait for the motion pack though, you can have the hull and turret built while you are waiting for it I think your plan to build a basic model first is the right way to go. That's what I did, and then when I got my confidence up I revisited it.

Don't worry about the spelling! Being a dyslexic myself I understand your trepidation, but no one has ever pointed out my spelling errors on here.

Pity you weren't there on Saturday. There was a Southern Armour Group meeting in the Tank History Hall, with around a dozen of us running our tanks, including a couple of Tigers. You could have introduced yourself in person !

Thanks again for your welcomes,I have never actually seen a 1/6 scale tiger so building one will be interesting.

My toys are....A Turbos Honda s2000 that is running 550hp on a sick engine,that will be built middle of feb and may run at 800hp when done.

The bikes are a tidied up 2006 Hayabusa finished in white And a Scratch built chopper with a 114 Ultima (1868cc i think) with a 300 rear but as im a softy its a softail frame.

So for the moment the engine rebuild is a priority,everything else is good on the car.Its running a Quaife Sequential with geartronic paddles so i feel like ive been raped when i drive it....it is fast tho.

My new Pak 43/41 arrived today,its an impressive bit of kit.My plan is to finish it in bare metal with parts mostly anodised a dark blue/black or polished bare aluminium.The mild steel will be either sprayed or gun blued.

Ime undecided weather to include the detail kit that Ian is selling on here.Im going to start the build as soon as and possibly complete it before i start on the Tiger 1 kit,although there may be an overlap.

I want to include my Nephew as much as possible in the build as i have promised to help him buy the Pak 40 kit if he does well with his A levels.

Those who have seen the Pak 43 will already know how big it is but for those that havent here are a couple of pics I took. Glen

I was in Normandy recently and came across this print in a shop in Ste Mere Eglise.I was a bit nervous about buying it as I was on my bike so transporting it was a problem.I could have ordered it from over here once I got home but that doesn't hold the same appeal to me as buying it from Normandy.

I'm not up to speed on Tiger tanks but I believe this one depicts Wittmans Tiger.There is also a limited edition print in a frame signed by veteran crew members but I had even less chance of transporting that home.
