Issues with emails to BTINTERNET - RESOLVED

Over the last few weeks we have had issues sending emails to BTINTERNET email addresses.

We have worked with our hosting company to fix this and emails *should* be working again. Our hosting company said they do occasionally have issue with BTINTERNET, BTOPENWORLD and TALK21 email addresses. For the teckies out there the solution was to add a specific SPF record for our domain.

Monique will run some tests today. However, just to be safe, if you do use BTINTERNET and have access to another email address then send us that one for any queries.

Fix did not work. Emails to BTINTERNET, BTOPENWORLD and TALK21 email addresses are not getting through from us.

Will post again when we have a solution.

The last email I had from Monique had this in the header:

Received-SPF: Permerror (SPF Permanent Error: Two or more type TXT spf records found.)

A previous email in September had this instead:

Received-SPF: Pass (sender SPF authorized)

Maybe BT don't accept mail which has any kind of SPF error ? I only block on "SPF not authorised" failures.

Thanks Adrian - that is a big help. We have 2 SPF entries for the services that we use. Maybe BT does not like that. Will consolidate to 1 and see what happens.

/end of techie stuff - back to 1/6 scale kits :-)

Problem solved !!

Thanks for the info Adrian, looks like the issue was multiple SPF entries.
