Can you use a FUTABA SKYSPORT 6 Radio Transmitter or do you have to use special transmitter for tanks -- if so where do you get one,
and how much do they cost?
Advice would be appreciated.

Colin

The legal answer is no. The FUTABA SKYSPORT 6 is, I believe, supplied with a 35mHz operating band, which in UK at least is restricted to airborne models. The 40 MHz band is allocated to surface models. Both frequency bands are only used on legacy systems which are very prone to interference and would also be subject to strict frequency control at any public display. Modern systems use 2.4Ghz and are protected against interference.

There is a comprehensive guide to selecting a radio in the Knowledge Base, here:

If you have other technical questions, Forum members will always try to help but it might save you trouble if you look for answers first in the Knowledge Base.

Colin, the 35mhz radio you are using on your tank is illegal this is for aircraft only, you should remove this and replace with either a 40mhz or a 2.4ghz radio that is all the advice that can be given
