Hello,

As you can see from the pictures we have had a horrible problem with the sprocket grinding on the housing.

Should we be trying to fix the alignment of the bush and the main shaft or something else?

Thanks

Sam

The alignment is pretty close but a quick fix is to remove that third level on the final drive.

This is the current design of the final drive housing:

The 2010 Tiger instructions say the inside face of the sprocket should be 16.5mm from the hull side.

Many thanks Adrian,

I don't feel so bad about the damage to that bump if best to remove it anyway.

Are our road wheels anywhere near correct?

As you can see they are rubbing a lot and the gaps look pretty uneven (beyond what the vertical position would suggest)? Or am I just worrying?

Finding some horrors during first minor rebuild ;)

btw You can see Dad is doing all the real work.

Many thanks

Sam

Sam you are worrying to much mate, the rubbing on the hubs and spacers is normal and when she is sitting on her wheels under load the gaps tend to sort them selves out, the full size Tiger 1 tyres rubbed the axles also, so its very much like the real thing and will not effect the operation , looking at your allingment photo things look as they should, you can add the brass washers to fine tune if you wish,as I have said before allow the sprocket to seat correctly before you tighten the collet bush allen screws... regards Phil

you can reduce the cotton reel spacers slightly on a lathe, thats easy and helps a lot, and as phil said when the tank is on its tracks the spacing is different, with these older kits you always get a bit of rubbing but when they do" bed in" they run like clockwork, regards simon manning.

I cant see from your photos but the inner road wheels concave surface should face inwards (the opposite to what you might think is correct) just check it although it makes little difference to the running gear, Simons bobbin turning is a good idea and looks more correct when done with a little poetic licence.... regards Phil
