Goodmorning everyone
Does anyone have any decent pictures of the turret bin, the drawings expect you to machine it out of a solid block of aluminium!! I will fabricate it but require external images of the hinges, fasteners and how it was really secured to the turret etc.

I am not sure if things like the catches etc were the same as the Tiger, if so there are quite a few pictures of Tiger turret bins in the for sale section from Mike Stannard. I am pretty sure that fixing were common.

You would be better off making one out of sheet stock and using photos off the internet or something. The bin that came with the tank had ZERO detail. It was nothing more that an aluminum brick. I have not even used mine yet. I will be going up to Aberdeen soon for detail shots. Ill try to remember you, the one they have has the spaced turret armor around it so I dont know how good it would show.

To all who took the time and effort to reply thank you very much. I am currently waiting for a copy of "Achtung Panzer" n° 3. but it will apparently take up to 3 months to deliver!!! I will be fabricating it from sheet material and the detail in the scanned pictures from Pierluigi were really helpfull. Will post some pictures when the bin is finished.

I agree with Roland. I think sheet is definitely the way to go. I can't wait to see what you come up with! Your Panzer IV is fantastic!

Hello Graham Your workmanship is amazing the bins looks great . Can we have a photo of your turret which is in the back ground ... How about a shot with the turret on the hull . Graham I bet you cant wait to get the tracks on !! That's when the models comes alive .. Dale

The turret is not complete as I ran out of suitable sized materisl, the bin is made from scrap bits and pieces.

Your are putting a lot of work into this model, I admire your effort. I like the Panzer IV as a tank and look fwd to seeing it complete. I've never seen the Armortek Panzer IV model in motion.

a fine work, as usual.
Only one question: why have you used a thick metal slab instead of a thinner one (like that one of tiger's turret bin)?
The thickness looks like -more or less- that of the hull.

For two reasons, it needed to be thick to take the screw threads and its bits left over from previous work that were in my "it may be usefull someday" box.
