This popped up on eBay recently and I couldn't resist it, as I've been looking for one of these aluminium cutting capable machines for a while.

Travel is listed as 575mm x 352mm, so I think it will have enough reach to machine the internal supports for a Tiger.

I only picked it up on Friday and haven't had a chance to do anything other than play with the manual controls. I have ordered some carbide bits and ER20 collets to get me started.

Adrian.

Hi Adrian
An interesting buy. :D
I have a Colchester Master from the 50/60,s era converted to CNC with a vertical slide and rotary table i.e 4 axis.
The software I use is Mach 3 which has its problems but works 99.9% of the time faultlessly.
Best of luck with your buy.

Graham

Thanks Graham.

What do you use to generate the Gcode ?

For the lathe I usually roll my own programs but that does mean quite a bit of trial and error and hence wasted stock before I get it dialled in.

Hi Adrian
Same as you mainly but Mach 3 has simple wizards to do straight forward milling and turning built in.
