i just primed my tiger and the color is a pretty close match to the color I want..is there any disadvantages on just keeping the tank in a primer?
Im having a problem finding someone to supply me with the actual paint..

Hi Michael,
primers are rather water absorbent (that's their job, to have a good grip of paint), so you need to cover them with paint to seal every pore... bad day, isn't?

I'd never try that, but a dull nitro varnish should cover enough. Or a mad idea: nitro varnish to block the first coat, and a other light coat of primer to achieve the job. So, vapour and moisture don't touch the metal, and the extra paint add depth to the look of the paint.
