I purchased this Comet at last years open day and started the build about six weeks ago.
I am very impressed with the quality and fit of parts on this kit, Having built most of Armorteks products I think this is one of their best.

I must thank Stephen White for his excellent Comet build that has been my inspiration, I just wish he would put his Centurion to one side and finish his Comet.

Steve

Further work on the Comet has been carried out over the past few weeks, namely the outer hull sides and the suspension components.
Overall view of the left and right outer hull sides, over 250 holes had to marked out drilled and tapped for 7ba bolts. The hull panels have been highlighted by cutting the panel lines with my Dremmel and a straight edge. I also added some detail around the drive shaft output area using large washers and domed headed bolts.

Blimey Steve, you don't half rattle through these kits! :D .I should give you my Cent hull to build up .I think you would have the arv built before I would get the tyres stuck on the road wheels  .
Comets looking good!

Hi Derek
Yes i am still finding little smears of Kilapoise all over the place, the screws took a long time to do but are well worth the effort.

It's been a while since my last Comet update and much progress has been made. I took the partially complete hull to the recent Tankfest for a trial run and was pleased with the result although a little fine tuning of the track tensions and radio set up was required.
Since then the Comet has been returned to my workshop for completion. To insight the hull I need to carry out some more detail work and devise a method of easily removing the hull top plate and engine deck whilst hiding the fastener heads. The turret has not yet been started but should be a much easier proposition.
Anyway here's the latest update shots of the back end.

Just collected Steves A34 Comet today.
Have to get it setup with my Spectrum DX9 and then figure out some proper storage for the Panther & Comet.

Cheers

Hi all, i have had a search and have found the correct lengths for the mk19 A & B set aerials, but not been able to find anything about the thickness yet.
The length of the MK19 A set aerial was at least 8 feet.
The length of the MK19 B set aerial was 25 inches.

Any suggestions as to what type & thickness of antenna i should use for my Comet?

Cheers
Tim
