British Mk IVs captured 1940

I found these photos on the web, they appear to be outside a Headquarters captured in 1941.
They were marked Smolensk Russia, so they may be from the White Russian Army.

I seem to remember reading that these were melted down for their steel

Mark V's, not Mark IV's .... The immediate clues are the radiator louvres on the rear sides, and the different front vision ports.
These would have gone over in 1919 to support the White Russians, and left behind when the Communist forces won the Civil War.
There are quite a few pictures of German troops posing with them in 1941.

I think the Mk V Hermaphrodite in the collection at Kubinka was sourced by that method, ie deployed to support the White Russians and captured by the 'Reds'. It was/is in remarkable condition, at least externally. I didn't get an opportunity to look at the interior when I visited in January/February 1991.
