Hi all, Are there any Armortek owners in the south / midlands areas who would like to meetup every couple of months to meet up & run our tanks outdoors.
I have been looking for somewhere local to me to run my 1/6 Panther now that it is back up and running after an overhaul.
I have a site in mind but would only go ahead if i know that others would be willing to attend also to help set this up.
Does anyone else have an area already that they can run tanks that others could also use?
Please reply or PM me if interested.
Cheers
Tim

Hi Tim,
I could be interested as I'm not a million miles away! I run my tanks in my back garden but that's not suitable for a large gathering.

Hi Tim,
I would also be interested, although in Essex, I have family in Stafford so can combine trips.
Sorry for a late reply,
Mark.

Hi Mark, Great to hear from you.
The place i was considering offered a field that we could use exclusively and itself looked pretty good. The big problem was that access to the field would be challenging having to drive accross 2 rough grass fields. I believe this would be potentially damaging to normal road cars, but fine if you used a 4wd.
The owner was also expecting £100 per day for us to use it.
That in itself would not be bad if we could get 5 or more people each day, but at this time i think that could also be a challenge.
So, I am still looking for a suitable place but would be grateful for any suggestions.
I for one would be happy to drive up to 1 hour to a suitable location and i guess most others would do the same.
Cheers
Tim

I was talking to a few people at Tankmod about the Midlands Meet up and I mentioned that I was looking at a tank driving centre in the area as a possible site.
I then got a pm late last week which reminded me of the name.
So, I have just spoken to Nick at Tanksalot this morning and he is very enthusiastic and happy to accommodate us.
Tanksalot are based in Northamptonshire between Milton Keynes & Brackley. They have a large number of tanks & afvs that they use for corporate & public tank driving days.
I am now planning to visit some time this week to discuss details.
Not sure yet how much room we can scrounge and if we can add any terrain features.
I also do not know the costs involved.
Will update again over the next week when I know more.
cheers
Tim
