Sounds a good idea, an Armortek models owners club, I'm up for it. I don't want to be negative in any way but what is hoped to be achieved over and communication as on this forum. Personnally I would like to see the new club organise gatherings throughout the country, you can't beat a face to face meeting and/or running event. The club would also have to fit with the existing clubs like the UKTC.

I'm all for this club but we need to give this some thought before rushing in, especially as there is a hint of money with a club treasurer. I offer the following as ideas based on experience with other clubs.
First off this club has the potential to be international which would make it a big undertaking for one committee. I suggest that the club should be split nationally with national committees as I don't htnk it would be easy to manage if the committee was split internationally. Hence we could have the UK division of the club.
We also need a club objective, (I hate fancy modern lingo like mission statement - we arent going to the moon!!)
From a national viewpoint we could have area secretary's who are focal points for events/meetings in their areas, such as things like a stand at War & Peace or even regular gatherings at local pubs. The area sec's details (e mail addresses) could be published so people could contact them about events in the area.
A token membership fee could contribute to expenses and club regalia etc.

Hello Chaps
Starting a Owners club will take some setting up and i agree with Alan.We will have to split it up into areas. Ie UK USA Europe etc. The fees are to be discussed and we will have to have a Club goal. As we Stand at the moment is that we need more nomines. But when we get this ball rolling i think that it will be benificial to all that join.

Lee,
It sounds like you and I are on the same wave length. I am prepared to join and are up for doing some committee job. My personal goals for the club are to bring members together, to meet, talk, run models and other linked activities like photograph events etc. I say meet as this forum presents a superb opportunity to communicate via the web so the club activities must complement this forum and not necessarily replicate it.

I don't mean to upset anyone but what do you/we hope to gain from an Armortek Owners Club?
At the moment I check the events page on the UKTC site and put my name down if I wish to attend any shows. At these shows are numerous models of all makes and scales, to me it is about having a good day out with like-minded people.
Would the Armortek Owners Club only support Armortek models? In which case this Club would not be for me. I have attended a few shows with Armortek and would love to continue in order to support Gill, Mark and Armortek to help grow our hobby. At these shows I fully understand why it is only Armortek models - it is called business, same as Mark One Trade days.
What I am saying is - I would not like to see a club that just supports one make.

Hi All,
I too have the same veiw point as Nigel on the owners club.
My feeling is that if the club is Armortek specific then this existing forum is all I need as we all gather here on this board anyway and can arrange meetings and events and share ideas, or not, without the need for a fee based seperate club.
Just my veiw, not looking to rain on anyones parade.

Hello Chaps
One of the things i am working on is insurance. As we know that our models are limited editions and we value them very highly so i am working with a company that might cater for this. As for the fees if any will have to be discussed with the members.
I am also a member of the UKTC and is a fantastic club and always will be one. I am not saying that the Armortek owners club should be exclusive of other makes as most of us have one or more of other makes in thier collections.Even I have.
As it was only mentioned by another member that there should be a owners club. I was only picking it up and seeing where it goes from there.
As we know it will it takes a lot of effort to run a club and it is run for its members.
