Re: My 251 build.
Hello Dennis, made a start on the suspension, does the part CM0207 suspension arm fit right up to and against the part CM0203 suspension flange....? The arms on my build go 'tight' 2mm before they butt against the flange...I can of course file the arm to get a close fit if required.....or is it a case of aligning the drive sprocket with the wheels.....?.....Mick

Re: My 251 build.
Thanks for the reply Dennis, I will hold fire....did not want to remove metal where it is not necessary. The drive sprocket and wheel centres line up with a 2mm gap between suspension arm and suspension flange.....no problem. I have plenty to get on with...Mick

Hi Mick
The boss on the back of the suspension arm should be flush with the face of the flange. You will not need to remove material to achieve this, just ensure that your torsion bars are tapped fully home into the suspension shafts and fixed ends.

Re: My 251 build.
I have made a couple of modifications but I hasten to add these are not in conflict to the manual. It is entirely up to you the builder if you adopt these mods.
I tapped the bottom of the wing post to 4BA as M3 was too small and M4 too large. Loctited a 4BA nut on to the top of the thread and filed off the corners to make it round.
Also made up an angle bracket to hold the silencer in place. Filed a flat on the silencer and drilled and tapped at M3. It is at the back of the silencer so can't be seen.

Re: My 251 build.
A bit more done but still more to do. I decided to put one battery in the front where the smoker is supposed to go as I have the speaker bolted to the back of the dashboard/bulkhead, the other battery will be under the gun platform together with the radio gear, sound unit and speed controller. will have to make up some aluminium covers to hide the door servos. A bit of brown/green camouflage to spray on yet.

Hi Tom,
Yes everything will be under r/c including :- gun rotate and elevation, side doors opening and closing, rear doors opening and closing, sounds including 22 mm gun sounds synchronized with led in end of barrel, running lights and possibly dual searchlights. I am using my own electronic control system.

Re: My 251 build.
Hello Dennis, that's one smart looking model. I like the Flak gun option, there are plenty of ideas when fitting these 251's out. It would be interesting to see what other builders of 251's are intending to 'finish' with. Thank you for posting the photographs they are an inspiration......Mick

Dennis, that's a very nice looking model! That flak option really makes the 251 stand out. Looking forward to see what the final paint scheme would be.
BTW, has everyone received any news on the motion pack? Are these available yet?

Hi Denis
Looking good like the doors and drop sides.

Regards
Derek

Hi Derek,
B&Q but not cheap though. 250 x 500 about £20 and 500 x 500 £36. I had to get the latter but will have some left over. Used my OAP's Diamond card for 10% discount. The desert yellow looks paler on the photo than it actually is. Some brown and green to go on eventually.
