Haguenau Panther Ausf G Inside Refit

Post by Lewis Sleep »

Hello All

"Recently" the electronic system has been temperamental & playing up, so not being a whizkid at electrics (especially old ones) I thought I would bite the bullet & buy the new Motion & Sound Packs, as you know its plug & play.

Below are some images of the hull before its was sanded down & after ready to be Etched primed, there is some other images of the new Battery Tray & the metal plate to mount the Power Supply, Amplifier & Auxiliary box to the hull.

Regards

Hello All, final update on my Panther Inside Refit.

All electrical equipment bolted in to the Panther, Main Motors mounted & working superbly along with the new Sound system! 8)

Few photos below showing where all the electrics are mounted along with Steve Winstone's Turbine Exhaust, which my Dad painted & weathered & it really makes the tank, Thanks Dad! :D

Thanks Paul & I completely agree the Turbine Exhaust really do make the tank & yes the Commander has be refitted in the top of the turret commanding the tank! haha :D

We changed a few things with the Commander for instance the 12V battery was swapped out with a small Lipo 7.4v battery & Velcroed to the turret floor, all the cables for the commander & his circuit board where put up inside the turret, so none of the cables wold get caught when it was traversing.

As for the driver he no longer could fit in the drivers hatch as the Electronics Packs are in the way so he had to take early retirement haha!

Hi Lewis,

Sounds like a good plan for the commander, the drivers had a hard career in the Wehrmacht, so its maybe time he had it easy. He is a veteran of at least 8 years service and he will miss the camaraderie and the crack of being in a crew.

Apologies Paul & Tim,

I have only just noticed you both replied to my post a while ago when we where talking about the driver of my Panther G, forgot to set it up so I would receive an email when someone commented lol

As for the driver he is enjoying retirement as a prop on my shelf admiring the view of all the RC planes in the loft lol xD

Hope your re-build is going well Paul.

Thanks
