Re: Dortmund
Yves, Simon, thanks for taking the trouble to post for those of us who couldn't get to the show. The quality of models looks inspiring. I thought that the pictures of all the construction plant might be a hint to Gill and Mark, heaven forbid! Coincidentally, I've been looking at some of the actuators they use, in particular a linear actuator which acts as a servo, which could have application for things like gun elevation. If we think a tank or two are a challenge to transport, what price the chap who had to take HMS Victorious home?
Looks as though Gill and Mark had a successful time with the new kits. The Pak 43/41 is a seriously impressive bit of kit in the flesh. I was looking at the original in Bovington last week and Mark's model captures it perfectly.
Maybe Dortmund next year....
All the best.
Stephen

Re: Dortmund
Hey Yves, Thanks for uploading these movies, althought you seem to have missed my Sherman 2A stalking those 2 Panthers.
Anyway, it was great to meet you and i loved watching your King Tiger on the stand.
Hope to see you again in October.
Cheers

Re: Dortmund
Yves, the middle two films are for private use only they can’t be seen by others only you,
In a few weeks RAG will post a report on the event with many pictures, I personally took over 1000 which will keep Banner busy for a while, this was an excellent event once again we were in the company of like-minded Kameraden from Germany and Belgium, but it was only 3 English men who were crazy enough to travel to Dortmund through the night then have 30 minutes rest then a full day at the event, I can tell you I nearly fell asleep that evening in my dinner.

Re: Dortmund
First. Thing I would like to do is say a big "thanks" to Mark Lawson for doing the organising and all the driving on this trip, I would also like to thank RAG for making us feel welcome and allowing us non members to participate in their displays.
As Mark has already said we had a long overnight trip to Dortmund with 30 mins sleep on arrival before we went into the show, it was a very long day but very enjoyable. Great to meet up with Mark and Gill on the Armortek stand and see the new kits. Beer and Schnitzel that evening and then to the Hotel.
Saturday and Sunday were both long busy days but with so much to see and do they went very quickly, 3 days is not really long enough to see everything !
Long drive back Sunday night and finally got home at 0300hrs Monday.
Bring on next years show !
Regards
Steve

Re: Dortmund
Big thanks to Mark for the Driving and helping with translation.
I thoroughly enjoyed this massive show, which has to be at least 10 times bigger than any UK show ive been to.
As Steve says, it is a long way and tiring, but great fun.
RAG as always made us very welcome.
It was great to meet and spend time with Mark & Gill at the show and to see their new toys.
The RAG tank 'proving ground' also provided Mark with some challenging terrain to put the 251 through its paces.
This is just the thing to get you motivated and i got more done to my Panther yesterday than ive done in weeks.
I will take a look at photos tonight and get some uploaded.

Re: Dortmund
As the UK guys said it is a long way! but really worthwhile. It was great to meet up again with customers from Germany, France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, Italy and of course all the UK customers who came over and with new customers added to the Armortek family, now including Turkey, it really proved to be a great show. Thank you to everyone who came along.
As before we got a great welcome from the guys from RAG and particularly thank Mark Lawson and 'Mecki' for their support and help.
Our new product the PAK 43/41 went down very well and thank you to everyone who had asked to be added to the reserve list. Needless to say having been away for over a week we have a little catching up to do! If you are waiting for a kit or reply to an email, we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible, however appreciate your patience if there is a little delay.
many thanks
Gill and Mark

Re: Dortmund
No need to thank me I’m happy to have been able to introduce you to this event, Next year I think we should leave earlier so that we are not knackered from the beginning.
If anyone is interested in displaying at Dortmund next year send me a PM, I would be happy to discuss the benefits and costs of the event.
