Another interesting one, Carl.

An Australian riveted trail with an Australian all-welded saddle, with an Australian Mk.2 barrel. This was a reasonably common configuration for 'rebuilds'. The Australian manufactured Mk.2 barrels had a different muzzle profile to the early British manufactured barrel with the curved muzzle 'swell'. On the Australian barrel, the barrel taper finished 90mm short of the muzzle, where there was a very small 1.5mm step up to a straight profile for the last 90mm. On the top of the barrel, 30mm short of the muzzle, was a milled flat, 205mm long, for placing the clinometer during sight checking.

The Aust manufactured 25-pdrs have several unique features not seen on their British or Canadian counterparts. It will be interesting to try and incorporate some of these when I (finally!) get to building my Kompact Kit.
