Otto Carius died

Post by simon fuller »

Not model related, but an inspiration for many.

Otto died Saturday in his sleep.

God bless and best wishes to his grieving family. A real gent has passed.

I spoke to him when he came to war and peace and he seemed a really nice, friendly man. I remember he said he felt overwhelmed by the attention he was getting.

It is sad for his family, but at the age of 92 he has had a good run. We don't live forever

I had just finished rereading his book around the time he died. I met a lot of American WWII pilots and tankers but no German. Sorry I missed him.
