Hi
I have just fitted the rotary encoder to my Futuba 7c.Can somebody explain in idiot terms how to assign the sounds to the encoder. Is it a simple case of just changing assigned switches on the handset.....or do I have to reprogram the sound module?
Totally new to this so scratching my head

Hi Chris,

If the soundcard was initially set for another type of encoding(e.g.toggle switch)you need to reprogram it.
You can find the English manual over here: http://www.benedini.de/TBS5E_5.pdf

Good luck !

Hmmm, It seems that the switch isn't being seen.More investigation required!.....Amazing how the hours fly bye when scratching ones head

Hi Chris, I have just been fitting the same into my DX7.
I ended up plugging a servo into the RX to ensure that the switch was in fact working.
Each of the 12 positions on the rotary should move the servo to a different position.
This at least told me that the switch was working.

Hope this helps.

Hi guys,

Tim is right, the encoder should be connected to a fully proportional channel in your radio.

Hi Chaps

Fitted a servo to test the encoder. The encoder jerks at each position, almost as if it's getting a signal to go in both directions at the same time. Any ideas?

Hi Chris,

Normally to test it I hold the switch in the activate position and rotate the selector knob and the servo should advance one position at a time. I assume you tested the channel with a servo connected before you fitted the encoder, I also assume this is a proportional channel you are fitting the encoder to. It maybe an idea to reconnect the pot back up to test the channel is ok. Also make sure the 3 connections from the encoder are in the right positions on the leads that came off the pot.

Dennis.

Did you follow the instructions provided here:

http://www.armortek.co.uk/Forum3b/viewt ... f=2&t=1716

If the servo is twitching, it sounds as though you're almost there.

It does sound to me as though the three connections from the encoder to the transmitter are wrong somehow.

Adrian.
