Track ropes

Post by William Bath »

Hi,
I have been attempting to attach the rope to the side of the hull, from a kit supplied by the late Mike Stannard, is the rope supplied the correct diameter, it looks a trifle large?

Hi William.

Not being smart but are you using the tow ropes instead of the track changing rope perhaps?
Just a thought.
Cheers Paul.

Er, no, they are almost twice the diameter of the track rope, and there are two of them

Hello William,

De trackrope that comes from Mike is ok,
i also got the trackrope from Mike on my tiger one,
i think there are 3 or 4 diferent ways to put the trackrope on the side.
It depends from what year the tiger is made.
Best regards Yves

William, which version Tiger are you building as our Kameraden Yves says there are various ways to thread the track cable, my instinct is to say you are building either a Mid or Late model Tiger, which cable kit did you buy from Mike, as much information you can supply will help us to help you

Hello William,

You have stated that there are two ropes supplied by Mike appear to be tow ropes and the much finer rope is a track rope. The Tiger 1 had the track rope positioned on the side of the tank and the thicker tow ropes are fitted either side of the turret on top of the hull casing with the gun barrel cleaning rods. In which Paul implied, 2 Tow Ropes and 1 Track Rope.

Best of Wishes

Rob

Hi I got into trouble by questioning the diameters of the tow ropes.I can tell for sure that the supplied tow ropes and the aftermarket tow ropes are all too thick. Both the track tow ropes and the tank tow ropes are all way too thick. Also the jack block is far to thick.Have a look at the photos of my tiger. You need to make your own tow ropes. It is not hard.Contact me at peterbarclay0@gmail.com. I am so glad someone else has noticed the fault .Cheers Peter
