Hello,

Yes thats the one nr 480 Loctite,
it's a black substance, once the bottle is open you can use it for
maybe 6 weeks, than the glue becomes hard in the bottle.
I use that for my tiger roadwheels and they donth come of.
best regards Yves

Loctite 480 is very effective but not cheap. A while back, we discussed an alternative UK source which is much cheaper:

I haven't exhausted my supplies of various Loctite products yet but when I do, I'll be giving these folk a trial run.

Hope that helps.

Hi Guys
I have used this on my Comet and it seems to be the same as the
Loctite 480.

The delivery was a bit slow but they sent the goods and ask for payment after they arrived.
They normally are at the midland ME shoe in Warwick and that starts on the 16th.

I just used Araldite 2 part epoxy. Make sure it's the 24 hour one and not 5 mins.

I like Robin have used good quality 24 hr Araldite on all my tanks (Tiger, Comet, PanzerIII) and over the last 5 years they have done a lot of running through mud water and all sorts and none of them have come off. But it's all about the preparation of the surfaces, you have to make sure that the tyre rubber is roughed up and clean and also the surface of the wheel.

Also used 24 hour Araldite on my tiger, and like Dennis, it's all in the preparation. No problems so far and I have clocked up 30 hours plus of running. I have tried another 2 part expoxy glues as I was having a problem getting Araldite locally, waste of money...

Hi Yves,

Once the bottle is opened you can keep it in the refrigerator. That way the Loctite stays good for months.
