I've just realised that my machine gun flash separator circuit will only work when the Benedini TBS5 board is configured to use encoder mode

In order to allow it to work with the toggle switch mode, I'll need to rewrite the code and make it user selectable, the same as the TBS5 itself

So, I'd be grateful if people could vote on how they control their sound system, to get an idea of the popularity of each method.

I had wondered what was the statis of your sound control module.

Since I really do not want to fit a rotary control to my Futaba radio,I must vote for the toggle switch method.

I have just cast my vote for the toggle method, and that's the same on all of my models as well as every build done for customers ... ... quite a few now just saying as I can only vote once.

Can I ask - do you use the three position switch on the 7C, one of the joy sticks on a 6EX or 7C, or a completely different brand of transmitter (Spektrum, Graupner etc)?

I like the idea of the rotary selector but use the 3 position toggle as it costs nothing. Futaba 7c

Spektrum DX8.
I've got the encoder but haven't yet been brave enough to fit it. Toggle is ok but easy to lose count!

For anyone hesitating about the installation, it really is very easy if you follow Mick Regan's excellent guide here:

The rotary selection does give you a clear visual cue for each sound, rather than having to count. For the Cent, being able to trigger the .50 sound followed quickly by main armamaent will be a bonus.

Looking forward to taking delivery Adrian, so that I can separately fire the .30 coax and the .50 ranging gun.

I also use the right 3 position switch on my transmitter ( Graupner MX-16 if-s )
I also wanted a rotaryknob for sound, because i donth like the 3 position switch,
its to difficult to have the correct sound.
I saw a time ago here on the forum how to install a Bennedini sound encoder,but i donth
know if that works for a Graupner transmitter.

Yves: I have fitted an encoder into an MX-16 transmitter and it was quite straightforward. The encoder fits in place of CTRL7 and the activation switch fits in place of SW2. You need to remove some stand-offs from the inside of the case, to allow the encoder PCB to fit, and reprogram the transmitter, but it was no more difficult than the Futaba. Some soldering is involved as well.

As long as the encoder switch is installed on a proportional channel then it should work ok as all it does is selects different positions for the servo output.

All I need to do now is tidy up the code and make it easy to follow.
