Hi to all

Had a great day out at the weekend at a relatively new show at Collop Gate Farm Heywood, a little north of Manchester, just off Junction 19 M62.

It was a two day event, with re enactments, WWll theamed displays, Local boat club, tank carrier rides, stalls and even a full travelling fair ground.

The main show though was the millitary vehicles, mostly british mostly working. Thundering round the course. This was chance to get up close, and I mean real close to a working vehicle.

Centurion guys would have had a field day This is Misageer. Ran sweet as a nut.

By kind invitation I was asked to take along one of my models, Normally I would have taken armortek KT but this was an excellent chance to take the 1/5 Chieftain for a photo shoot

A small group of exibitors of 1/6 scale models turned up and were welcomed to join an area in the main arena. The organisers would love to have more exibitors next year so get your batteries charged up and join in.
As an exibitor I was allow to get up close with the model taking a picture very much like one taken with the same model during the 70's

And did I say close up, you don't get much closer than this.

You have to respect the guys who had to operate these things on the battle field day in day out. For a 6 footer I was getting cramps after a couple of minutes.

The guys running the tanks were friendly and would allow you clamber on what you wanted, real down to earth.

Thanks to the show organisers
John
