The following is posted on behalf of the Tank Museum:
Here at the Tank Museum we are beginning to make our preparations for Britain at War Day on Saturday 20th September 2014 between 10:00 – 17:00. The event this year will look to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day landings and consequently will be themed around D-Day. There will be talks, tours, trails and activities for all of the family including a display in the Kuwait Arena with a range of privately owned MVT vehicles in action alongside the Tank Museum collection.
An element of the event which we would like to include is a Hobart’s Funnies demonstration. As we are unable to co-ordinate this with the collection, we were hoping that we could set up a demonstration area in our Tamiya Hall with 1/6th scale models. This is where you come in! If anyone has any Hobart’s Funnies within their model collection then we would be extremely grateful if you would consider attending the event to exhibit these vehicles and communicate to the public their capabilities.
If you are interested in attending the event then please contact Brianna Ryder-Maki on 01929 405096 ex. 211 or send me an email at briannarm@tankmuseum.org.
I look forward to hearing from you soon and thank you in advance for your involvement.
