Just designed a shelf unit which is with the fabricator right now for feasibility and price. It's drive on, of course .
All welded and painted so it will sit nicely inside the house.

Do the sizes and weights look right ??

That's a lot of weight to be trusting to a cantilever.

If it were me, I'd put another side on it. You're not going to lose any more space and it'll save the model falling off if the tracks get too close to the edge.

I am afraid of it.
I have a sort of rack for the tanks, BUT with ALL 4 angles WELL built.
200kg per level guaranteed by producer.

Looks like it's on wheels too. My trolly does not like to move enen jodt with Tiger 1.What about 2 seperate units. Small lighter tank on upper level.

The lightest goes on top. I may have to put removable side supports on however 2" angle takes a hell of a lot of bending . The fabricator will know if it's possible

your first design looks quite tricky
It's worth to think about the statics of a groundfloor inside a house as well.
With just for small rolls you'll have a load of nearly 1 ton on just a few square milimeters !
When it get stuck whilst moving and fall.........,

Hi thanks for the comments. I have revised the total weight now at 600kg after getting some technical info. Still with fabricator. I will let you know in when I have the answer if possible. It will be standing on a wooden floor above concrete.. You are right about the pressure so I will remove the wheels for more surface area contact

Even at 600kg that's about the weight of an old Mini car! Each corner putting 150kg on a few square centimetres, that might crush/mark the wooden floor. Might be worth putting a large plate underneath the stand.

What material and section are the horizontal shelf supports and also the vertical struts? Hollow steel Rectangular box section might be a better material to work with, you can get material specs off the web. It will be a week before I can get back to my text books, but it would be interesting to do some stress analysis on the structure.

Its amazing how much these tanks weight eh!.

Anyway it can be made anything up to 500lb per shelf so no weight worries. Also can have adjustable shelve heights if required. Just waiting on price
