I'm following the builds of the FLAK quite a long time now, after I've got my Kit last year from Filip Marek
I got started with my Flak just a few weeks ago but would like to show at least the actual status of some bits and pieces realized so far  :)

It will be a quite personnel derivative, but I'm allways happy about hints and tips :!:

Hope you like it so far ;-)

cheers ,

Uwe

Hello Uwe,

Wow, she is coming along nicely my friend 8) I hadn't noticed that detail on the end cap until I saw your photo, so I checked my photos and there it is.

Hello Paul,

thx for the nice comments :)

The 88 is quite fun to build but tricky when it comes to details, there have been made so many versions of the '36 and allways you find some differences

I've made some progress and fixed a few "fit & function" issues today..

But now it's time for a "one to one" with my Bierkrug

cheers, Uwe

Just made a bit of progress on the recoil tube. Just looking for some details for the bracket on top of the "recoil-spacer" :?:

I'm still wondering what for the two holes on the cradle bracket-sheets are :?:
Struggle to find some good pictures of that special area.
Any hint is welcome what to do with them :?

My "small fitter" is just playing around than to research
At least just saying: Hello

cheers,

Uwe

Hell Uwe

Looking good so far. Are you doing an early or late version?

Hello Marten,

thanks a lot for the quite helpfull links :!:
The prime portal has been my base for good pics so far, but the other ones are new for me ,great ! :D

@ Lee,

first of all thx a lot for your time and quite interesting chat on the open day !
My intention is to build my FLAK to a later version of the 36, with priority to be
carried on a FAMO

Just now "tuning" a bit the front section of the cradle, I've not been happy enough

cheers so far,

Uwe

Small progress on the rearcover of the recoil-tube and the breech.
Hours of filing and linishing but now the block is running smoothly :D

cheers,

Uwe

Hello Uwe

When I did mine. I found some photos on the rear breach it was quite rounded edge due to rounds being chucked in.

Hello Lee,

thx for your hint ! I'm still in the "fit & function" phase, so there is still a lot to do on the single components...
Hopefully Santa will bring me a "Workshop Laptop" to have my References directly on hand
Just now I have allways to walk from my cellar up to my Computer, and just back down in the workshop forgotten again the half  , I'm getting old ....

Doing now day by day all the elimination of machine-marks, linishing, some edge corrections now and some areas of the breechblock a bit of slight polishing.
We'll see when its done so far..

cheers,

Uwe

Uwe,
Your flak is looking great. Beautiful details. Not having a kit I'm not sure what mods you are making to the kit parts but your details are fantastic. Keep up the great work, I'm enjoying your build.
Kind regards,
Bob

Hello Bob,

thanks for the quite motivating appreciation :) My Flak is an older Kit with a good base but lots of "room for detailing". Thats what at least me myself love to do :D

Today I finished to 90% the gun breech, still the markings missing and the outer and inner details of the breech-block itself. To be continued once the proper tools for it are in place
The whole block surface work and contours are done so far and I'm quite happy with it.

Thx to Lee's hint I found the missing Detail Pic or just simple to say:
"Only the cone will bring you home"

I've attached some pics of the bits and pieces done or improved so far..

cheers,

Uwe

Uwe - ich gratuliere dir. Ausgezeichnet und inspirierend. Thanks for posting. I'm following this "saga" with great interest. As Bob says, without knowing the kit, it's difficult to work out what you've added or changed but the craftsmanship is outstanding and your "acht-acht" looks the real thing.

Best regards

Stephen
