kilopoise and how much to use ?

Post by Derek Attree »

Hi All
Just doing the suspension on the comet and I am not sure
how much Kilopoise I should be using.
I have spred it round the top fitting and pushed it in to the tube as per the instructions, but it seem
that a fair amount comes off as the top fitting slides in the tube and is left around the top of the tube.
Is that enough or is it better to put some kilopoise in the tube first so there is a coating
in the tube as well..

I hope those that have done this understand what I am getting at and can help me out on this one.

Regards

Derek

hello Derek,
if memory serves me well as long as the piston going in to the brass tubes is coated all the way around and makes a seal then this will be fine, the kilopoise is there to function as a friction material to act as a recoil like action, I reckon I only used a quarter of what came with the kit and as you said most of it comes off when inserting the piston in to the tubes.
hope this helps you out.
Chris.

Hi Chris
Thanks for the info so I think I am about the same.
It was the amount left in the pot that had me worried :?
