Hi Bob,
Not sure, but in my books the order to the factory to stop putting it on was 9th Sept 1944 an d a nother order for the crews to stop putting it on themselves 8th Oct 1944.
The tables of new Tiger 1 all seem to stop at August 1944.
Hope some one comes up with an answer or photo evidence.
Cheers
Phil

Hi from what i have researched every one of the 500 odd late tiger 1 had zimmerite .Sorry ,you like me were hoping not to have to apply it .I am about to start ,i have been putting it off. They had problems with it catching fire as it was mostly sawdust and they finally realised after applying it to several tiger 11,s that the russians did not have magnetic mines and never had .The germans had magnetic mines not the russians.I suppose the the russians might have captured some .I know it seems daunting but it has to be done. Best of luck ,dont be to fussy it was done very roughly by forced labour mostly. cheers peter

Bob, the simple answer is no, all tanks produced in this time had zimmerit

Its not difficult to do correct just time consuming using Milliput, using the comb method in 1/6 never looks right but is quicker.
Best method is to study as many pictures as possible then using milliput experiment with a bit of scrap metal or plasticard

Hi Bob, thought you had done your zimmerit already. They look good with zim anyway.

Nope. No question about it; all late model Tiger-1's had Zimmerit, until production stopped in favor of the Tiger-2, in the summer of 44'. Zimmerit stopped in Sept/Oct. 44'. Sorry no "fudge factor" here; not even in the ballpark, timewise.

Hi iam going to use wall tile adhesive .IT IS CHEAP.From what i have seen a lot of people apply thier zimmerite too thick for the scale. When it is applied with a tool that does multible ridges at a time it looks terrible.Get yourself comfy and and do one at time but do a thin layer. Cheers peter
