Hi All,

with the majority of the M2 parts mastered and the last few parts
underway I have been able to shift some of my time over to the
quad 50, I know its not a lot to look at yet but we now have the
body sections for the left and right handed 50's and I have just put
the finishing touches to the solenoid trigger unit,

Best regards

Dave

Sorry for the delay in replying David but missed your post somehow, might be my age

The treadplate I used is by plastruct and if I remember rightly I bought it from EMA, they do 3 or 4 different styles and it comes in sheets about 2/3 the size of A4.

Moulds are now made for the resin parts of the 50's for the quad and all the remaining gun detail is ready to go off to our metal casters. I am now working on the body of the mount and will keep you posted,

cheers

Dave

Hi All,

Work on the the Quad is still progressing and I received the Rapid prototype's I've been waiting for this week. I have assembled them this evening and whilst they don't look very exciting I do now have the basic structure for the main drum and the parts that will form the masters for the elevation drums on each side. I will start detailing the main drum first and will keep you posted.

Best regards

Dave

Hi All,

Time has been in short supply lately with War and Peace only a few weeks away and major household tasks, like moving my office to make way for the nursery  , but work on the Quad 50 is still progressing albeit slowly. The main drum is now done and I have started on the turntable, there will be 25 of the roller fixings when it’s done but I can only show it with the master for now. My caster has produced the metal production masters for each of the 50’s and these can now be seen in place.

I have also just received the production masters back for the US hood catches and these will be cleaned up ready to go into a mould fairly soon. They will be added to the range once the production mould is completed.

Best regards

Dave

Hi All,

I have, I think, finally got my head around how to cast this thing so have been able to start on the frames for the guns. Progress should be somewhat swifter now I have something to work around.

Best regards

Dave

Hi All,

Most of the main frame is now done with the internal bracing complete as well. The outer fillet plates are all separate pieces which locate on pins to make the main frame castable. Once I have completed the structure I will add all the weld details to joints and plates.

Best regards

Dave

There is a lot of work in that prototype, and it will be some significant white metal castings. Keep up the good work

Hi All,

Most of the welding detail has now been added to the side frames and support structure. I have a few more small details to add to the two side drums and the base plate and then I will be able to start on the guns and mag supports.

Best regards

Dave

David,
Wow that is superb prototyping work! Fantastic detail. But mind boggling when I think about how to cast all that??? You are a true master.

Hi David,

Unfortunately I havn't had time to finish the scout car yet, it's still sitting in the workshop in grey primer. Hopefully after I finish the quad and the War and Peace show is over I might be able to squeeze in a little time to get it done.

Cheers
