Hi All,

I have just rediscovered a old black and white drawing I created when I was living in Paris in the 1960s.
I believe these two Panther Gs were captured by the French Resistance and stood outside the Ecole Miltaire Museum in Paris for a good few year's, and one of them is presently at Saumur Military Museum which I've seen a few year's ago, outside the Museum, but under cover, as for the other Panther G I know not where it is to this day!
Anyway I thought it would be nice to share this with members of Armortek Forum, especially those members like Kent Wiik who's into Panthers in a big way and given us so much advice and information on Panthers, who have built Armortek Panther kits and variants.
My own one is a Armortek Panther G kit which I bought a few year's ago and is still in it's boxes waiting for my attention some day, some year!
But I have enjoyed over the years all the builds on this particular kit, and look forward to building this one for sure!

I very much like your drawing, it really captures the atmosphere of the scene. To help you narrow the search for the second Panther, the distant one you've drawn is an 'A', or perhaps even a 'D'?

I wish I had your skills with the pencil.

The 2 Panthers in Paris was a gift from General Leclerc (Free French 2:nd Armor division)
They was on Paris-display from about 1947-1974.

One was an Ausf G captured in the battle of Dompaire in sept 1944.
She was #332 from 112th Panzer Brigade.



She is now in Saumur undergoing restoration.



The other Panther is an Ausf A, captured in Paris August 1944 in the Jardin du senat.



She is now on display at Mourmelon-le-Grand.

Thanks to all for your kind words guys, I just feel I was in Paris at the right time to draw these wonderful Panthers that used to stand guard outside the Ecole Military Museum in Paris all those years ago, although in the 1960s I had know idea that one day I would be building 1/6th scale Armortek kits in 2012/13 and on.....

But Kent thanks for informing me of the history of these two Panthers and where they are today, although I knew of the one that resides at Samur under cover outdoors in the yard, I had diffinately not known of the other one that you say is at Mourmelon-ie-Grand, which hopefully I will try and persuade my french brother to take me their some day. However as Either Robert or Simon says I should get my Panther G kit out of it's boxes and start building it, but my time these days are buying books from Amason online and 1/35th scale StuG Ausf G and B version from model shops in Glasgow here on my latest adventure as I have bought, just ordered up one of Armortek latest NEW StuG III G, which will be very interesting to build, and hopefully convert into a B version maybe?
