Burning Question

Hi All
With the year drawing to a close I wondered what will be the next project from Armortek?
Will it be another cold war warrior? an upgrade? or a revamp?
For me I would like to see a Technical model, Something to inspire, Something with the ability to be built with individuality, Upgradeable and Unique. Something big! Something too heavy to be a shelf Queen, Visable moving parts, Smoke, Sound and a Towing hitch!
I remember the ehco's from the distant past, drifting gently from long lost lingering posts.
Yes, I'm talking "Famo"
If it was to materalise I'd buy it.
1 down 49 to go.
John

Hi John
I'm with you on this one for sure.
2 down 48 to go.
Or a sturmgeschütz would be just fine.

Panzer I is a bit too twee for me.
Panzer II would be good though, but I wonder if the Dragon release has taken away a few of the people who would have been in the market for an Armortek version ?

Hi All
I suppose the main problem with it all is time and there's so much to select from. The mystery new product, the pre owner builds, part owner built's or someone's "Not got around to it yet, mint inbox" I would dearly love to buy new, but it must be have the WoW factor to me.
I'm sure the planing and RND work would take many month's or year's for that fact. But unless your zillionair or a Banker, the moneies finite as is the time. The kit's are one off's. First come, first happy with a possible rerun in five years time.
Who can wait five years???
For me the KT had to be S/hand, I was not in a position to buy at the time of production.
I'm sure the pleasure of being the first owner is like, well collecting and sitting in your first brand new car. A sort of Christmas Day, Opening the boxes, laying out all the parts and imagining the final completion of the model and a closeness to the Armortek family.
Having said all that, patience is a vertue, sadly one I was'nt born with.
The other problem is if you have the money and you don't have plan for it, if your not careful it could burn a hole in the pocket,(or er indoors) hence the burning question.
Oh yes, plaggy tanks, they have no soul, there's no coldness, a metal build is the closest to the real thing that us meer mortals can own.

Hi John,
While reading first few lines of your words, my instant reaction is "FAMO"! I do smile when finally see this word.
Yes John, I am with you!
It always remind me of the lyrics of "Imagine":
You may say I am a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one.
Cheers,

Hi Bob
Thats not a tank, that's a statement! as for no one around, nore would I be with a fifty cal around. (I saw the the last Rambo film too you know) messy!
Still, getting back to the original question.
Armortek, any chance of a Famo in the near future? or have I got to be content with mobilsing an old metal dragon 251.

But a famo is not a tank! What does one do with it without anything to tow behind it?

You could tow a tank. Might need two though. It's stilll a tracked vehicle.

Hi fellas.
"But a famo is not a tank! What does one do with it without anything to tow behind it?"
Considering its a Famo just about anything you like could be towed behind it! you would of course need three to tow a Tiger and have things looking right
Its not a tank! well neither is a 222 neither is an SDKFZ7 or an 88 or the American halftrack but they all seem to have been well received and made into wonderful models by their owners.
Come on bring on the Famo there is a die hard merry little band of builders on here who cannot wait to see one added to the list.
Cheers Paul.
