I started with my T34/76 kit some weeks ago. Attached some pictures with changes and detailing I made to the kit. The driver is already working and will be operated in parallel to the speed controller.

a very nice looking T34/76, the cast effect is looking very good on the MG and exhausts. Well done, keep the photo's comming as it nice to see 76's being built.

Very nice details. I love the functioning driver - there aren't many tanks where the drivers hands can be seen, but the hole in the front of the T34 makes it ideal for a driver to be animated.

Great pics of your T34/76 Kit, and driver, first pics I've seen on Armortek Posts of the 76.
Although I don't have the 76 kit, but like you I have a driver for my T34/85 (No 27 Factory (2011)

I'm interested in the seat that your driver sits apon, could you show us pics of how you made up for your drivers seat inside the hull of your T34/76. And is there any technical drawings to show us how to make them!

But as you can see she needs a good seat to sit apon, not a small flower pot?

for designing the driver seat I used the kit AF35143 from AFV Club in 1/35 scale. The kit has the complete interior. Another good source is the book Rissian Armor Vol. 4 T-34 Medium Tank. I measured the parts for the driver seat and enlarged it to 1/6 scale. The seat is placed on a base plate with all neccessary things, so it can be placed in the model ore also removed. The base plate has a cutout for the front suspension arm. Having the seat ready, I found out, that the figur is to big, to place on the seat without a conflict with its head. Thats, why I removed the legs of the seat and milled out the cushion of the seat.
In the movie, the servos are controlled by a servo-tester/servo-programmer. Later on, the servos will be controlled in parallel to the speed controller. The head of the driver is also animated with one servo, but not shown in the movie.

Hello Gunter,

Thanks very much for posting these diagrams and pics of your T34/76 Driver and seat. Now I understand how you made your excellent looking seat and managing to get your driver down low by removing the legs of his seat etc.
This could be fun to animate my own driver, following your good advice and pics on how you went about making it, what with digital servos, speed controllers etc.

Looking forward to seeing a video of your driver taking control of his levers and look like he is really driving his T34 tank.

If I get stuck, then I know who to ask for further questions.

So great to see a T-34/76 taking shape! Esp one from you, I'm sure it will be most impressive once you have added your detail magic. You have to have something to battle your excellent P4 F1!

Keep us posted on your progress. BTW I am ordering a set of your idlers from Stehr Jurgen for my P4 - thank you for setting that up so we can order them.

first thank you for your comments! After the tankfest I spent some time in assembly of the tracks and in the dummy engine. I rebuilt only the top of the engine, which is round about 5cm. For this, I rescaled an engine from a 1/35 model and some pictures from the web.
For assembly of the tracks it was helpful, to talk with John at Tankfest. Every track links fit together an I used nails to secure the track pins. It was not easy to push the last pin into the track, while sitting on the hull.
