Which electronics do you have ?

The Motion Control Module, which was usually supplied with the Quad, has Switch 3, which can be adjusted to allow for 20ms or 7mS compatibility.

If it's not working at the moment, try changing the position of switch 3 and see if that helps.

Adrian,

I happened to obtain this 2nd hand Morris Quad C8 model from Germany, the electronics in the vehicle are :
Armortek Motion Control Module & Armortek Audio Module.

The original owner claimed that he was using brixl controller. What transmitter I can use to match that?

Have you tried changing switch 3 to see if that helps with your Futaba system ?

Gilbert are you satisfied that the 18SZ is binding correctly with your receiver? The 18SZ I had only appeared to work with S & T - FHSS, FASST and FASSTest receivers. Is your receiver one of these?

Adrian,

Thank you very much, it works after changing to up side with the Switch 3.
The Data frame rate is now working with my 18SZ Faastest system.
Except that I still unable to control the motor :
there is no neutral nor forward for the motor control, whenever I switch on the motor runs nonstop reverse and no reaction to the throttle control!

Unfortunately after all the tests this whole week, the final result proves that the Fasstest system of Futaba 18sz system does not syn with the old system Armortek electronic systems. Finally I managed to use a Spektrum DX6 and it syn with the system and Quad C8 vehicle is now running comfortably.

My need is actually for 9+ channels to operate these vehicles. Would any body on the Forum have experience using Spektrum DX9 or ix10 or ix20 for these older models?

I have used a DX9 and AR9020 receiver with Armortek kits and they work well together.

I believe that any Spektrum system which uses DSMX should be OK.

My 18sz worked perfectly with all the different Armortek modules. The previous owner did have all the latest software upgrades done though, which may have made a difference.

Does anyone out there know how to upgrade the software to allow 18SZ to suit the old and new Armortek modules?

Or, anyone can offer the service to help ?

I currently have a couple of 18SZ for use on other air and sea models and hate to see the transmitters idling there when running land models.

HI everyone,
After the upgrade etc on Futaba 18sz still unable to syn with the Amortek electronic modules !!

Last week, after looking through all the Spektrum specifications whilst looking for the latest models, since ix20 is out of stock till May, I finally ordered a Spektrum ix12 with a 9 ch receiver, tried to hook everything up this afternoon, and now all are working fine.

I have to thank Kian for the advice of changing to Spektrum system.
