Great to see more Tigers. Do'nt forget to finish the panzer IV though. The bend in the pannier gave me some problems but just needed filing flat.

I totally removed those 2 rear deck blocks and the deck settled down to a nice height just below the sides as should be. It makes squat difference to deck stability too

Is that the 1/35th scale guide? If so, I also have one, it is an excellent reference book.
NB: Are you building the late model tiger?

Question. On picture 018 you can see the casting didn't quite form or someone broke it off while unpacking, either way same problem, where the deck locking latch pin goes. What would be the best way to have it operating with a retaining pin? Would a milliput piece work?
Thoughts please guys. Thanks in advance.

Ray,
I used a M3 cap bold instead of de pin and the result is in mine opion better.
Ray wath kind of rivets you used and how do you fixed them. With loctie or the old fashion way (klinking)??
Cheers Gerrit.

I've been using Duraweld aluminium brazing rods for repairs and it's pretty tough stuff. I wouldn't want to try it with such a large block though.
JB Weld is also good and strong. The JB Kwik really is fast at setting up, so you'd be able to fashion the shape and not worry about it sagging.
Another option might be to completely remove it and use some of Mike Stannard's deck hooks:
