help with wheels

Sorry if this topic has been covered before and if its a bit basic but having bought a part built kit I am struggling with the wheels. Nomatter how I assemble the wheels I am left with wobbling rims on the hubs. I removed carefully protruding threads on the wheel caps but this has made little difference. I did notice that many of the wheel bolts had stripped threads where presumably the previous owner had tried to tighten the the assemblies. Measuring the hubs caps and wheels it seems that the hubs are about half a mil too deep for the cap to clamp the wheel rim to the hub or am i doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Hello Phil
Its not the hub cap that clamps it up its the 4mm cap screw and special washer that does the clamping onto the shaft. Remove all the stripped bolts and replace with new ones.

Lee.
I think Peter is talking about the wobble than you can get when you bolt both sides of the wheels onto the hub! not the whole assembly wobbling on the shaft.
I found that this can happen if you do not tighten down the bolts evenly a little at a time and the long pan head screws {if I remember right} can easily be stripped if you are not carefull so as you suggest bin those and start with new ones I am sure Gill will help out with this.
Talk soon Pete.
Cheers Paul

Thanks chaps yes it is the problem of the rims wobbling on the hub . Judging by the measurements there is no way that the hub cap will clamp the rims onto the hub centre. Mark says that he will take a look for me but says that this problem has not been reported previously which made me think that I am doing something incorrectly. Any more ideas?
