i'm onto it already. got the books & tumpeter model & have started making it in balsa wood. that way i can make templates & manipulate the various balsa pieces. all i'm going off is the plastic pieces using electronic caliphers. might take a few months though.

bridge itself is 1.8m.

I like very much the Brückenleger IV b and if I was a skilled modeller I would have built a model.
But I am not
Nevertheless two years ago -more or less- I surfed the web to find the inspiration and I found a really interesting  work done by Florian Wenke from Kiel on a 1/16 RC Tamiya Panzer IV.
This is the link to the web site http://www.mmodell.de
I was not able to find the direct link to the thread so if you want to reach it you have to pass through the following steps (may be you have to subcribe the forum):

MM-Forum » Modellbauwettbewerb » Militär-Modell-Master-2009 » Wettbewerbsmodelle M-M-M-2009 Gruppe 2 » Modell von Florian » Brückenleger IV b

If you click on the video posted in one of the last posts you read "The specified media does not exist" .
I saw it at that time and I can say it was stunning to see the tank launching the bridge.
Contrariwise you can apreciate a lot of interesting pics in this link http://s418.photobucket.com/albums/pp26 ... %20IV%20b/ (the three video are not as much interesting as the pics).

Enjoy it
Pierluigi

thanks for those. they were impresive pictures. i dont have the workshop nor the skills to manufacture the brige in metal hence my attempt in balsa wood. maybe one day i can get a working model but at this stage purely static. oh and i wont be modifying the hull at this stage.

cheers
