Gunter,

Your Panzer IV is looking great!

I think your choice to build an Ausf F1 was AWESOME - of course, as I am amidst building an Ausf F2....... Most folks go for the H; so, seeing your thread is VERY exciting for me. (I have nothing against the H, good tank, just always found more interest in Ausf F-G for me......)

I am following your posts closely and I can't wait to see this tank finished. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks,

Jim

Hi,

just a short update, what happened the last two weeks.
I attached the brackets for the cover plates

The rubber for the small tires arrived. But before attaching the wheels, I brushed the below side of the hull.
Image

Image

Last week the motion pack arrived. The elevation drive was modified, may be I will change that later again.

the sound boxes

the smoker

I modified the position of some screws an added the screws arround the hatch.

I added the base for the antenna

That's it. I hope, the idler will arrive next week, otherwise I will use the H-idler for the fair in Karlsruhe.
Kind regards
Günter

Looks great and very neat interior. I was wondering if those speakers would fit. Is that the new version motion pack?

John,

no, it is the standard motion pack. I have used the bracket of the speakers, which were in the box.

Nick,

I will test the model on a fair in Karlsruhe end of March. I will also be at Tankfest in Bovington this year. Karlsruhe will be the test run.
Kind regards
Günter

Great work Günter :D :D

I hope the trial run goes well and hope to see you with your F1 at Tankfest.

How are the return roller tyres made ? Were they cast from some form of rubber material ? The reason I ask is that I am still looking for a way to make T48 track links for a Sherman.

Adrian,

yes I let them cast. The rubber is the same material which is normally used for the tires (1:16/1:10). I milled the prototype for making the casting form and the rest was done by a friend (AFV Model).
Kind regards

Thanks Günter.

If the rubber is used for tyres, it sounds like it may be tough enough for the track links as well.
