Hi Tim

Very Interesting, do we know why they built it?

Hi Mark

I don't know why but I would guess it's the same reason any of us would if we had the resources. They did a very nice job getting close in my opinion. I like the size compared to the Private Ryan replicas. This one looks "right" when they are standing around it. Looks almost believable.

Just needs a proper zimmerit and camo paint job! :D

kind regards
Tim

Hello Tim,

Thanks for sharing these link.
Sometimes i ask myself, how do jou find these great links.
The pictures of the replica tiger 1 looks much better than the replica tiger 1
from saving private Ryan.

I agree, this replica is much more accurate and pleasant to the eye than those horrid mutilated t55s that are constantly being paraded as tigers. I like how they modified the t55 idlers and sprockets to make them look like a Tigers. I wonder how did they do the track. Were they recasted from an original, or are they NOS tiger I tracks??? Either way job well done indeed.

I agree, why would you ever mutilate a great T-55, the most produced tank in the world, to replica just a German Tiger? Heaven forbid mutilating the best tank of the war, a T-34/85 for a Tiger!

LOL! I love Russian tanks... but I understand why people do it!

Amazing and persistent teamwork there. Yes, their replica externally appears much more convincing than anything made since the war. I wonder if we will be seeing it in some movie soon?

While some forum members would certainly know it is not a real Tiger, I'd bet if any of us observed it in a rear view mirror coming up behind us it would cause us to pause - if not panic.

PS: I wonder what ever became of the German company that advertised they were going to manufacture full scale replica Tiger I's for sale, complete with BMW engines? I think they were Tecnobaltic Ltd., mentioned in prior posts on the Armortek and other forums around 2007-2008. Their rep was Karl-Heinz Dorenkamp who seemed to be affiliated with some CAD/manufacturing company. I wonder what became of their drawings or other plans?
