Following discussions with a number of people about my Panzer III recoil system, and its use in a Tiger I, I've spent some free time over the weekend looking into the possibility and think I have worked out the basics.
David Fletcher's book on the evaluation of 131 states that the "Feuerpause" mark was at 580mm, which equates to 96.6mm in 1/6th. I've gone for a maximum recoil of 95mm, just short of this.
What I don't seem to have is the length of barrel which should protrude from the gun support tube when the barrel is at rest. Various drawings relating to correcting the Heng Long 1/16 Tiger give a length of 52mm, which equates to 832mm in true scale and 138.66mm in 1/6th.
Can anyone verify this for me ?
Thanks
Adrian.

Re: Tiger gun barrel positioning
Is this what you want to know?

Also the recoil should be 92mm, depending on the type of shell fired. All this information I received from Roland Mann.

Thanks Robin.
With Mark's Early Tiger barrel, that works out at an easy to remember 5cm in the support tube when at rest.
