Hello Chaps

Just noticed as you do that there isn't any mention of the turret pivot Pins /bolts and none in the kit. Am i missing something :?

Pivot Pins

Post by phil fitzpatrick »

Hi Lee
You are right :(
I have searched the inner bag and the inner box and the fastener bag,
the pivot blocks were in the inner bag so I looked for plain 8 mm pins but then
discovered they are threaded on the one end,so they would have been wrapped.
I have just sent an email to Gill and one to "Uncle Joe Stalin""he will send the
NKVD round to help her find them
Cheers
Phil

Hello Chaps

Boy is there a lot of detailing required on this one. Just doing the rear plate at the momment. Not too happy with the round engine hatch as you have to glue bolt heads in place as the holes are not fully through so no nuts can be put on. I will let you know how i get on with that one.

Lee,

I am drilling and tapping the bolts on the rear hatch. Not many threads left after grinding the bolts to the correct short length (thickness of the hatch edge). I'll have to go back with Milliput or the like to clean it up once all of the bolts are in.

Hello Lee,
thanks God you had plenty to do before starting the T-34.
It's growing faster than a mushroom (it's an old italian joke). It has arrived a few days ago, and you are already assembling the rear deck. This way you risk to have the first trip around even before the motion pack arrives :P
