Panther Build On Hold

I find that I cannot continue building my Panther, due to the typical, and seemingly age-old problem that we have in Britain, of companies being unable to supply the things that one requires.

In my case, it's Tamiya TS-3 spray cans.

I cannot find anyone, who can supply me with this item. They all have it 'On order'.

I phoned up the importers, and they said that "They are waiting for a shipment to arrive in the country, and then they can supply the dealers".
He assured me that a container was due in any day. I won't hold my breath.
What a ludicrous situation to be in, in the 21st century.

Note:
I did find one shop in Devon who had 3 cans in stock, but he was unable to send them to me, as the Post Office does not allow spray cans to be sent.
They can only be sent by courier.

I don't know how the price compares but might this be a possible Plan B ?

Thanks Stephen. I've just phoned him up, and he had them in stock, so I've ordered enough to get me by until my order with a local shop comes in.

I cannot believe that the importers have allowed this situation to arise though.
Virtually everyone I'd phoned previously, said the same thing, "We're out of stock, and have them on order"
My local shop, has had these paints on order for about 6 weeks now.
Not their fault, it's purely down to the Tamiya importers, and it's absolutely ridiculous.

darryl, if you go to a automobile paint supply outlet they will match any color or shade from stock, they will mix it while you wait and make aerosols ready to use , make sure you order a matt finish aerosol for the tanks exterior, its cheap and good quality compared to tamiya costs, the choice of colors is endless i have always painted my builds this way. regards simon manning.

It was for three cans, but I don't know if that's how they are supplied usually ?

Ah, yes! Sorry Adrian, I didn't read the ad properly.
It works out roughly the same as here in the UK in that case.
Still, it'll be quicker coming from Scotland..........I hope. :)

Hi All
Model Zone in london have the sprays back in stock
as they were off the shelves for over 2 years owing to a safety
issue.
