I finally got up the nerve and finances to take up an Armortek build. I have fascinated over the replicas for some years now and am glad to posting my first build. I was furtunate to get my Universal hull from Dave Da Costa in LA and thank him for that. I could never compete with some of the hobbiest here, however, I do enjoy it very much and would love to get so advice from any of the more accomplished builders. Looking forward for the motion and AufsG Delivery. Thanks and enjoy.

Torsion bars are quite the task... May try trimming them a bit.

the first build adam is always a bit of a handfull but stick with it and the kit soon takes shape, you can always go back and add more detail later. regards simon manning.

Thanks Simon, I plan to do this one right out of the box, then add on later. Lots of great ideas I have seen in other postings. I will certainly take on the weld build up details with some epoxy and am debating if I should add zimmerit also. I found an interesting article on the history of it on panzerworld.net.

Welcome to the club. Love the small cat in the big one
You will find lots of help and usefull tips overhere. Just look at me, I was one of the first with a Panther and had it build in three months(had to be in time for the Armortek Open Day) and now three years later, I'm refurbishing the model encouraged by all the beautiful models I have seen here. Still with the same tools I had then, but more spare time, more patience and a little extra cash(that sure helps). So, take your time and I'm sure we can add another great kit to the collection.

Welcome to the forum. Nice to know there is another one in California. As Simon said, the first one is a bit more challenging. Take your time during assembly on every part.

Hello again,

I have finally had the time to make the final adjustments to the suspension arms to get them right. I have them at about 40 degrees in the front and down to 35 degrees in the rear. I think I am happy now. I thought I should update my build hear since it has been awhile. We are all hear in the states eagerly awaiting the "Wedding of the Century" today in the UK. Hopefully these "Royals" get it right.



Additionally I had to replace the front torsion bar M6x20 cap screws with a grub to allow for the right EMD Mount, I imagine others have done the same thing.



I think I will take the back deck off to make for easier access to the rear plate details also. Not sure why the instructions have this step before finishing the rear plate.



Last note fore the evening. My rear tension adjuster is a bit tight but it is workable. Should it be so tight???

Hello Adam,

There should be more room to manoever, but it's hard to tell if this is the right setting. Better wait till all the weight is in place. I bet you have to remove a track link once the model is complete. I have however no experience with the new suspension system so it could be ok. Realize now that I'm of no help at all...
