Two (not so) simple practical issues

First. Got a complete fully operational tank, but is still celar metal.
How to' paint it? Maybe I'll need at least a partial disassembly, but how much?

Second. After a nice winter trip the tank came home very muddy. How get it clean again (most of all the tracks). I fear my mom's solution (how bath tub And baby soap) is not the best (first of all, how to' get the tank inside the tub!)[/list]

Hi Jan, with regards to the cleaning, put blocks under the hull so that the tracks can free wheel then you can use a garden hose to wash them off as the tracks rotate.

ok, thanks!
but a simple gentle wash or a good, strong high pressure wash?

I would say just the pressure in the hose, if you use a pressure washer when it's painted you may remove the paint but untill then it would be fine, then let it dry, then maybe use a light oil on the bearing blocks, the wheel bearings should be sealed but a bit of spray oil would be an advantage around that area( and possibly the tracks as well), this all gives the model a working vehicle look just like the real thing.some owners strip the wheels down and clean everything /oil then reassemble it's up to you.
It's all pretty robust but mantenance is all part of the experience.
