Hi guys,

A topic or issue that probably has been talked about before. I'm looking for preferable a led battery load indicator. I have googled but don't seem to hit the correct search strings. I know some of you have it! Simple link would help.Thanks!

Do you mean load indicator, or charge indicator ?

I'm guessing you mean charge indicator, in which case these are quite popular:

It would probably be advisable to imstall a momentary push button switch between the meter and the battery, so that it is only connected when you want to see the charge, otherwise it will be stealing that charge all the time

As Adrian said that is the one I use and a few other members of the South West Tank Club, we installed a push to make switch as once again Adrian suggests.

I just translated the Dutch phrase into "logical" English, but you are right, I want to be able to see what the condition of the battery is because we don't want to sit in the middle of nowhere without power. Is this easy to make or do they come "plug & play"?

They come ready built, so are pretty much plug and play:



Just make sure you get the correct model for the voltage you want to monitor.

Do they come with a cover plate? (only showing the led's)

The ones I have bought just came as per the picture, so you will need to cut a slot for the LEDs and two holes for the mounting points.

The picture doesn't show it at its best - the LEDs should all line up side by side and fit into a single long slot.

Battery load indicator received and built in(with the push button). Made my own cover. Works great.
