Motion Pack Problems

Post by Jan_Donadoni »

Hello,
I am starting to work on the motion pack of my 222, but I have some problems.

Actually i set up everything as per instructions, but all i can get working are the 2 servo for steering and gun elevation.
Both main drive motor and turret turn are dead.
Any suggestion?

problem partially solved.
I finally opened the power box and found that the 20A fuze was in the wrong place, leaving the auxiliary box with no power.
Now nearly all is working.
Just cant get the turret rotation motor working. Is looks as being somehow completely blocked.
Will continue to work on it

Hi Jan

Glad you sorted out the fuse. Your turret motor is not working because you are missing the limit switch bypass link. We will send one straight away.

Hi Mark,

I don't want to be the smart guy, but a "limit switch bypass link" on the 222 is new to me.

Actually I noticed that some kind of connector was missing, but i thought it was needed for the tanks with two, different separate motors for the tracks, for things like mixing and so on. I thought that the turret rotation motor was pretty simple, maybe (hopefully) proportional, but not even necessary to be proportional (just a simple right/idle/left).
Will wait for the proper connector.

Hi Jan,

Then you are probably missing the Electronize switchunit.

Hello Ad

Hope you are well. Jan has the new motion pack. The old 222s have now got the new electics in when armortek upgraded the motion pack. There is a white 4 pin plug that goes where the limit switches go.

Lee,
you are right ! actually the 4 pin plug is missing. I thought it was something necessary for the tanks with separate track control, so I did not give any importance to the missing piece. Actually some other cables or connectors are missing confronting the picture, but if fact they are going nowhere in the 222.
A friend of mine is helping me in finding out some actual camo used in the Italian theater of operations. Indeed it will be a personal interpretation of the the painting scheme, but at least it will be based on some real pictures.
If anyone has pictures (color) or anything that could help. please let me know!
I would like to have my 222 to be as natural as possible in its actual home and environment.
