Futaba Radio Question

Post by Mark Bennett »

I have bench tested my KT using a Futaba 7C and everything worked perfectly, including using the elevon mix for track control. Congrats to Mark for a very nice & simple setup. :D

My question is if anyone has been able to succesfully use a Futaba 10C radio with the R6014FS receiver?

I'm wanting to use some more channels for my KT. I know that the receiver's output signal is 2.7v instead of 3v. The airplane guys seem to have got around this by using a voltage amplifier, such as ElectroDynamics’ Buffer-Amplifier Interface. Futaba also advises to use an amplifer if needed in their product bulletin.

Has anyone tried to use this option?

Thanks for any advice,

Mark

Hi Mark
My KT runs very well with the Futaba 10C using the R601R14FS. It's the best radio I've ever owned. It's compatable with many different futaba 2,4 recievers via a simple mode change on the smaller (6-7 channel recievers)
I not sure about the reciever output you mention, I just pluged in and played.
I must admit the electronic setup, is not Armortek, using piece meal ESC's, 4QD drive, Benedini sound and Wiggy smoke. further channels controlling machine gun, periscope and animatronics.
The beauty of the 10C is the way you can select how to control the 6 auxillary output channels, having up to five proportional controls and 8 switched controls in any combination, including two three position switches five two postion switches and a single flick return switch, All reversable. The 15 model memory also comes in handy. There's even an output display mode on the large LCD display where you can see the percentage of servo movement that the "user" can setup within the program, watching the movement on the screen with out having to connect to the reciever, with more mixing than you can shake a stick at much much more. It 's just briillant. I brought mine from "A Model World" with 14 channel reciever and 2000 mAH battery.at a very reasonable price delivered to the door. No I'm not on commission i just love it.
oh yes " famo famo famo famo famo"
Oh Man, I only ride em I don't know what makes them work,

Guys, I haven't procured an RC unit yet, I hear people talk about the Futaba 6 channel radios, if I get one of these do i need the servos that some come with? or just the transmitter and receiver?

thanks :-)

Hello Conrad

You just use the transmitter and reciever. You will be better with the 7 channel one.

I think it's the new Armotek modules which don't like the lower voltage outputs from the 10C receivers, which would explain why your system works.

Hi Conrad,

If you buy the 6 channel one just be aware that ch 5 & 6 are digital channels and what that means is that they are either on or off. If you plug a servo in to either one of those channels and operate the switch on the tx the servo will go from one end to the other. You can use the aux output on the Amortek aux module and all that will give you is +24v or -24v depending on the position of the switch. Also if you are going to select the sounds on the Benedini sound board you cannot use ch5 or ch6 to operate it as you need an analogue channel not didgital, the same applies if you intend to fit his decoder switch. With the 7 ch model you get 2 extra analogue channels which enables you to select sounds or fit his decoder switch to channel 7. It all comes down to how many channels you need to operate the model, eg 2 channels for tracks, 1 channel for gun elev and 1 channel for turret rotation which only leaves 5 and 6 which as I have explained are only on/off channels.

Dennis.
