Hi Guys

Here are pictures and details of the production model, the parts are the first shots from the new molds. I have made a few changes to the content of the kit as original listed in first post. These changes are explain below.

I have only 70 sets of brass hardware for the containers in stock as these were etched with my PZIII parts. If the demand for these is high I may need to make up new artwork for the hardware to cover the demand. This can take several weeks. The first 70 containers will be sold on a first paid basis. Thereafter items will be placed on back order until I get new hardware etched. Nineteen kits already sold.

I am only selling this in kit form as it the container requires painting before the hardware and strap are fitted.

There are three ways to buy the container, as a container only. Or with 88mm ammunition rounds and decals at a slight overall discount while stocks of rounds are available, it is unlikely these will be produced again. The 88mm rounds are only offered with the container with copper cases, if you want brass cases you can order them separately from my catalog or spray paint the copper cases brass.

Prices
88-WC01K 88mm 3 Round Wicker Container $35.00
88-WC02K 88mm 3 Round Wicker Container. Plus 3 AP Rounds (Metal/Resin) and Decals $60.00
88-WC03K 88mm 3 Round Wicker Container. Plus 3 HE Rounds (All Metal) and Decals $100.00

Picture of kit, now consisting of four resin pieces, back, sides and base (one piece), front, top and insert to compensate for the shorter AP round. Brass hardware five pieces, three for the strap lever, the strap guide for the lid and a piece of .005" brass to make the end strap tab. A length of strap and eight rivets.

Model case with lid on and off. The strap lever actually works and holds the lid tight in place.

Comparison picture of hardware and strap, the strap on the real one was sewn to the back, I have glue the one in picture in place. The end tab on the strap was made from a piece of .005" brass (included in kit. I simply folded the brass over the end of the strap, glued it and the trimmed the brass to the width of the strap.

Interior of lid. This is one of the changes I made. On the real one the three round retaining rings in the lid were made of some sort of felt. I could not find felt washers the correct size so I molded them into the lid. For those that want to make them more realistic a thin piece of felt can be glued to the molded rings.

As the HE round is longer than the AP round I designed a insert to compensate for this. All kits will have this so both HE and AP rounds can be put in the case. I believe the same size case was used for both rounds. The rounds were held at the top by ridges on the wood posts which held the round by the rim. I was not able to achieve this so the insert was the answer.

I spray painted this part to show how the grain in the wood shows up on the model.
