Hi Dennis,

No it's not spray on. I use car body filler and 'technique' to get the result I want.

Hello John, Happy Christmas to all.

I am not really into this side of modelling however.....have you lightly 'weathered' your Comet. Also your decals, like Phil's, look impressive, are these purchased, or your own make/design. I noticed also your 'welds', a nice touch.
And finally, are your side lights 'working lights'.....Mick

Hi Mick,

I have 'weathered' it, but not too severely. As they didn't appear until 44/45 I decided they wouldn't have had much chance to show severe weathering or rusting other than the scrapes/scratches that my models tend to get naturally through running!
My 'decals' are not 'decals', all the insignia is painted directly on - I find that painted markings survive better on a running tank.
And yes, the side lights along with the headlights and searchlight all work.

Hello John, I am well impressed....if I am able to achieve anywhere near yours and Phil's Comets I will be well pleased. I know my decals will have to be purchased.....and if I can get the searchlight to work....that will do for me.

I must keep within my modelling limits and not get overly ambitious, nevertheless I am pleased with the build so far. Both yours and Phil's work is excellent and an inspiration to newcomers like myself. I expect to start installing the 'Option' pack early in the new year, so the questions will come flying in......Mick

hi John
Is the bull a stencil or painted free hand ?
If its free hand its well impressive.

Actually the whole tank is first class and I hope to see it run next year I hope mine comes out half as good..

Happy Christmas

Derek

Thanks for your kind comments guys.

The Bull is a bit of both Derek. I found that a home made stencil wouldn't work that well for me to give the small details/colour changes, so I used a cutout to draw the draft outline in order to get the size and shape and then hand painted it from that.
